Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year’s service was in a very different format…streamed by video.
This year the Service of Holy Communion held annually on the anniversary of the transfer of Temple Newsam House to Leeds City Council had a special significance as it was the 500th Anniversary of the House being built. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, and following the Government guidelines for social distancing, the Service was delivered via an online format to ensure that the safety and well being of all our citizens was preserved. This year, the pre-recorded Solemn Eucharist Service led by Rev M Peat from St Mary’s Church, Whitkirk included readings from both the Lord Mayor, Cllr Eileen Taylor and the Earl of Halifax and was broadcast at 6pm on Sunday 20 September 2020.
We hope that you were able to join us for this special event.
